"Above us only sky"

Sutter and I went with a couple of friends to see Tori Amos last night. Unfortunately, we had some unexpected (though unsurprising) Ticketmaster troubles, but the ladies at the Will Call booth felt sorry for us and handed over four tickets. We ended up much further from the stage than anticipated, but by that point we felt lucky to be there.

Tori played "Live To Tell" and "Imagine" which were both incredibly affecting choices for cover songs. Other highlights included "Cooling," "Winter," and "Taxi Ride" (a song I've never been fond of, but her performance of it last night changed my mind).

For months I sat indecisive over whether I wanted to see Tori play live, especially at an outdoor pavilion like the one in Concord. As it turns out, our shitty seats gave way to a view of the starry sky. The universe overhead during a Tori set is a sensory smorgasbord. I'll never doubt again.

I so glad you enjoyed the show. I just saw her on 9/8 in Woodinville, WA and it was also an outdoor show but it also was wonderful!!
